About Me

I am a product of Cobb County, Georgia. I was born at Kennestone Hospital, attended Cobb County Schools, and graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna in 1983. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1988 with a Bachelor Degree in English Education (of course, way back then, it was known as Kennesaw College). I hold a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and a Ph.D. in Education.

I started teaching in Cobb County in 1988. I taught at McEachern High School for 16 years, at Harris County High School for 3.5 years, and this is my 15th year at Harrison High School. I also worked as a technical writer for 2.5 years when my family and I lived in Florida.

I am married, and I have two daughters and five grandchildren (the youngest two are 3-year-old twins). I am owned by 7 pampered cats and 2 spoiled dogs.

In my spare time, I like to read. I like science fiction/fantasy, cozy mysteries, post-apocalyptic novels, historical fiction, crime thrillers, and romance novels. I particularly enjoy books that are set in Britain, Ireland, or Scotland.

Musically, I enjoy listening to Christian music, country music, and classic rock music (I love a good rock ballad!), with an occasional detour into reggae, bluegrass, and zydeco.
